HELLO HELLO!!! Right after I finished recording this video, The Google
Translate app came out with the same function as Word Lens, so now you have
it all in one app…. In the google translate app, simply click on the
Camera icon on the left, right under the text box and point the camera lens
to the text. Like Magic :)
FANTASTIC VIDEO! Love the app suggestions.
I must say, the lady on your “Fluenz” app is top totty!
😉
Next video in Swahili please!
Best regards,
TGV
P.s. Does her ladyship have Instagram? Cheers.
You conveniently left out the fact that Fluenz is $300. That’s fine, but it
would have been nice to know before downloading.
It’s hard to believe that you are not a native English speaker. Wow.
I have been a subscriber and weekly watcher of your videos for ages. I have
also had my heart set on picking up your Fluenz program for Spanish &
Portuguese for almost as long. I previously spent a hideous amount of money
on your competition’s language program which I hated and resold on eBay for
a fraction of what I paid. Any chance you would offer your subscribers a
one time only discount on your program? If you did, I’d scoop it up in a
heartbeat! Thanks for all the amazing travel tips each week Sonia!
For the fluenz you have to register the how do you register?
thanks!
fyi…word lens is no longer available from the app store and has been
incorporated into the google translate app.
also, how long ago did you record this vid? as it seems all the information
you’re providing is out of date. google translate does 90 language now.
for fluenz to work i think you also have to have a sub.
just sharing and no disrespect to sonia, as i always enjoy her vids.
I can’t find Word Lens on the appstore. :/
I use word lens since it works offline and without a internet connection.
I’m not sure if Google works offline which in some places in the world, may
not have internet.
when world lens just came out, they were giving away free languages. so i
got a bunch for free! awesome apps
Thankyou so so so so much! I’ve been studying spanish for 6 years now and
seriously, disecting and translating essays in a foreign language aint so
easy, especially when you have to flick through a dictionary every five
minutes! I’ve been a sub for a longggg while now and I love your videos but
as a student I dont really travel much… yet! so not many of your videos
have been relevant to me at the moment (Theyre all super awesome so keep up
the good work! Im sure all your travel knowledge will pay off someday for
me) until this one! Im certain this app will become my new favourite, the
translations are fast, easy and accurate! I can’t thank you enough for
sharing this 🙂 ¡Muchas gracias y hasta pronto :)!
A fantastic spanish-english dictionary app is wordreference – it’s the only
one our teachers let us use at our school. This is more for looking up
individual words and some phrases rather than learning a language.
wordreference also has other languages, French being one of them
Sonia, I don’t know what I would do without you and Fluenz! I’m getting
ready to study abroad in Paris for 8 months and your channel and Fluenz
French has really helped me prepare for it. I’m absolutely using these
apps. Thanks for the suggestion, as always.
You’re adorable! And your videos have been a great resource for my travels,
thanks. The Google translate app is amazing! I’m moving to China next year
to teach English, and start a business, and I’m seriously considering using
Fluenz to learn Mandarin! Wish me luck!
Maybe you could make a video where you share a bit more about your
experience in China? …tips, advice?
Hi Sonia! First of all, just want to say I really love your videos, I
travel a lot and I think they are really useful 🙂
Secondly, I just want to tell you I live in China (I am a Brazilian, but
have been here in Nanjing for 5 years) and Google is blocked here, if not
very restricted. I only access it because I have a vpn, which I think
tourists won’t have. Google translator will probably not work here and I
would recommend baidu’s translator (fanyi.baidu.com) for a more accurate
chinese-english translation
Me and my wife always follow ur videos and wait for nxt thursday to come..
Ur presentation is superb!! My wife use to call u ‘Cute-Sonia’… hehe..
Anyways, We love u and ur show.. it’s really a lot helpful… Specially ur
make-up tips.. My wife has seen that show for several times… U know..
girls love make-ups!!! lolz
Sometimes I use Google translate and wordreference for speak with my
boyfriend who is Italian. We live in different countries, if you want to
help us for meet us again please sign up and vote on this link (It is a
competition organized by nescafe capucino italia for couples who live
separated and the prize is a trip)

Idk if I’m correct in this or not, but I couldn’t find Word Lens in the app
store at all so I Googled it, & apparently it’s part of Google Translate
now. So, if you can’t find Word Lens, download Google Translate.
You are amazing! I love every single video! Thank you so much! Xoxo
Gracias por los videos de cada jueves Sonia, siempre son muy útiles! Aunque
ya conocía las 3 aplicaciones, aún no he probado fluenz, y estoy super
interesada en ver lo que tiene para ofrecer!!
I know you’re promoting Fluenz which I’m sure is amazing, but another
to-learn-a-language app that is FREE is Duolingo. They don’t have a huge
choice of languages, but it’s free so you can’t really go wrong with trying
it.
Sonia, kannst du auch ein bisschen deutsch sprechen?
Thoughts on learning languages simultaneously. I’m planning a trip to
Argentina and Southern Brazil. Should I learn Spanish and Portuguese
together? If I have to choose one, which? I think Spanish because I travel
to Mexico a fair bit too.
We need an app that verbally translates without having to read it.
amazing tips! thank you very much!
